APS wk 3 wrap up
APS wk3 wrap
Oooh boiiii It was hot! But a good hot if that makes sense. We stayed hydrated and in shade when every possible.
Stand out moment - exhale moment, split minute that stood still, i could have filmed it, almost like deja vu - where I was sitting there's a bush Turkey behind me scratching in amongst th leaves, smoke wafting through th trees off a lil way to my side (very small amount from craft work), soft breeze, sounds of laughter and a Didge, while Michael was talking and th group all keenly listening. I used to have a name for moments like this but Ive forgotten it, it's like a reassurance, 'in th right place'. So greatful, such a privilege, blessing to be here n now.
Checked in on our beautiful neat plantings from last week,.. aaaand their all completely annihilated by th fuvkn Bush Turkey's! How could we have not translated our observation of them in to a threat! Lesson learnt! Imaging over looking something like that for client!
Day one this wk, after a quick recap and check in on our side quests, aka homework, had us starting to dip our toes in to aspects of our Teacher Training, and prep for our first 45min skill share, a talk, just a lil talk about something we know well. *palms sweaty*. I was kindly reminded something about mom's spaghetti π π and that it's 45min broken down in to sections, not just talking non stop for 45mins. it will be easy peasy!,.. right,... RIGHT! π³ π
Day two, we dove back in to water, and preparing to set up drip irrigation throughout th Kitchen Garden. To calculate how much water and irrigation we need, we mocked up a quick mud map, measured all th gardens, and learnt different ways to measure irregular shapes, such as kidney shaped beds with rounded ends, and a convex, and concave side. This one did my head in. Maths nerd I am not!
My brain was already baked just from th overwhelm of sardining on th 3car that morning. like wtf QR! what's with th 3cars during peek π it's been forever since I was on a train that packed, for an hour. It reminded me of festivals, and th vids of trains in Japan, ppl being pushed in with a broom like stick.
πππ Social batteries - 50%
It wasn't so much th maths, it wasn't even that bad, but already being depleted, and then trying to do th maths quickly, to finish in a reasonable time for th group to move on,.. it was A moment,.. brain stall took over! Had to type in th same numbers a few times, and from then on its like buffered brain activity.
I knew this course would bring up a lot of lil situations that I'll have to learn to mask through, find ways to navigate without just having a break for an hour to dissociate. It's a safe space, even when asking very basic questions, poor spelling, broken speach, or asking for things to be repeated multiple times.
πΈ Flowies n pweety weeves
πΈ Poor plamps got messed th fuvk up!
πΈ Mad mud map skills π Much accuracy. It may drive others to frustration but I love th creative kaotic flow of th layout. Not in perfect square rows.
πΈ A group member lent me their copy of th Northey Street City Farm Cook Book! It's so good! All these plants that are a not found in supermarkets but often spoken of in Permaculture are in here with info and recipes! Amazing.
