🍃 Sunday Speaks
4/5
Check in with me, how's you?
How was your week, how fuppin good is it that Dutton got the boot!! and what are you looking forward to?
How's you floating🪼🪼🪼
Right now seasonally speaking we are right in the cross quarter of the past autumn equinox and the coming winter solstice, also know as Samhain (sow-een) and Witches New Year. It's a time of paying homage to those who came before us, of deep reflection, gratitude, and planning for the cool months ahead. Exact date this year is the 5/4/25
Today is 🧑🌾 International Permaculture Day 🌱and🖖Star wars day.
.......yes I know this ‘🖖’ is trek but it's like saying “I love Zelda AND the princess”, you flash one of these bad boys and just wait 😈
It's a beatiful cool clear day here on Gubby Gubby country, but I can feel clouds creeping in even tho their not really.
My view
⛧
I am just so dam relieved!! Dutton getting the boot is almost a bit of a shock. I've become so emotionally conditioned to the unbelievable shit show in the USA, going from one literally unfathomable event after the other, that I understand how easily I could just slip into some form of apathy to oppression, like helplessness. Not saying I'm ok with that, it's just the shit that's going on over there, I genuinely can't comprehend how it's happening. Event after event. Loss after loss. They can't do that, they just did. Again and again.
Buuut here we are!
Australia said no!
⛧
My week as been wonderfully uneventful and calm, again.
I've made progress with our western aspect plant wall, adding another row of 50cm pots, now with *puffs chest up proud* 1 new native tree!
I know, I know, more, but baby steps. This whole row of plants is zero budget, every plant has been free, propagated, scavenged, gifted, and grown out by me, over many years, and carted around each time we move to another rental.
⛧
I picked up some free (unflooded) sand bags for garden use last wk, but it took me a week just to move them out the back and empty them into bins for ‘cleaner’ looking storage. My main concern with using them is salt and other possible contaminants, and how how to test for that. Google isn't always my friend.
Also got all the compost bins rotated, turned out and each one on to the next step in the system.
Small actions, baby steps. Consistent progress. Yay me.
⛧
I've been dreaming forward with gift economy and trade. What this can look like for me when I am very low income and finding a balance to wanting to have a retail website as my income well as generously giveing frequently.
Looking forward to the continuation of the ‘international permaculture Festival of Wild ideas’. Highly recommend signing up, even if you can't make a single session, replays will be available 🙌
