Yippee! Our first IBC
Our first IBC! Bill said, start at your door, so we are! No fluffy slippers to this feral tho.
This has turned to the equivalent of moving all the furniture to fit a new mirror/vase, or indoor plant, kind of.
Our gardens are broken down in to Rooms, and each room has different sections. Multifunctional spaces, like Ikea show rooms, only kaotic af, and messy, aaand dirty,..bc it out side, it's literally dirt.
We picked up this gem off Marketplace for $20!
The metal base is pretty rusted. One corner foot is half missing and the lil support bar that runs around base is busted and missing in places. It's all good tho, more on the actual IBC when I get to doing the things another day.
Placement
Today I chipped away at the clay, raked, and chopped the clumps down, and raked and chipped an chopped and fark! its level ish! It will do.
Pavers down, with a lil chipping and chopin and raking. We picked up these Pavers FREE off market place a few months ago.
I have a rough idea of things I want, so I keep and eye on market place and slowly collect things as they pop up, with no haste, even if the actual project is a year off.
Draged the IBC over and it fits, is level enough.
Soo why the front door?
Insight in mind! I pass it every single day with out trying.
It's inevitable that I will look at it, and act on any adjustments as they are observed.
Once I set up the IBC, I rearrange the plants along the edge of the footpath.
The small vertical planters were originally purchased new, on sale at bunnings. I whipper-snipped very low along that edge, then added a very thick layer of woodchip.
Behind these are a row of 500mm pots with privacy screening plants. When I can afford to, I will get saucers for underneath them to prevent them from dropping roots.
